Basic

What I Wore - Dress: J. Crew Factory (similar), Shoes: Dolce Vita, Bag: Madewell, Lipstick: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in "Mandarin Muse"

Wow, long time no outfit post, am I right? Sorry about kind of falling off the face of the earth for the past month, being home and without the majority of my wardrobe kind of threw me off my outfit game (aka I wear the same thing for roughly three days straight when I'm at home because I don't see anyone #homebody). But here we are again! I'm back in Portland for the summer, living in a house with some of my best friends, working two internships in the city, and I'm so stinking excited about it all! This is my first summer away from home, which sounds very intimidating/adult like/scary to me but I get to spend it with my best friends in a city that feels like home to me most days, so I don't think it'll be nearly as frightening as it seems.

Quickly, let's talk about this outfit. I love this outfit. I want to wear this outfit everyday of the week and would even be happy wearing to bed because it is literally nothing but a giant t-shirt. Add my new orange lipstick and these comfy espadrilles and I feel like the most put together slob in the world. It's perfection.

Misty Mornings

What I Wore: [Jacket: old Forever 21 (similar), Skirt: J. Crew, Booties: old Sam Edelman (similar), Bag: Madewell]

I've been back at school for about two weeks now and I've definitely been feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to readjust to school life and get this whole semester figured out. Things around campus definitely feel different this semester. The majority of my junior class is gone on abroad programs, including 4 of my closest friends, and since my roommate and I both studied abroad our sophomore year we feel as if we're the only ones left! So we've made it a plan to expand our friend circles and meet more new people this semester! I've also had to kind of hit the ground running in terms of classes and extra curriculars this semester. There has been lots and lots of reading, many meetings, and seemingly endless emails. It's all very exciting, and new, and a bit stressful, but definitely all good.

Morgan and I found some time in-between classes to take some outfit photos on Monday. We headed to south campus and were able to capture just how eerily beautiful campus can be when the fog rolls in. That's one of the things I love most about the Pacific Northwest, everything here is so beautiful no matter what the forecast is!

Just A Touch Of Sparkle

What I Wore: [Jacket - old Target (similar), Sweater - old Zara (similar), Skirt - J. Crew, Oxfords - Minelli (similar), Lip Color - Nars "Dolce Vita" Lipgloss]

I love Portland because I can wear a short sleeved sweater and skirt with just a leather jacket draped over my shoulders on December 7th and be WARM - this is madness to me, especially compared to how I was dressed while being at home in my last post.

I wore this outfit on Sunday for a day of eating, shopping, and play attending with my mom while she was in town over the weekend. On Friday and Saturday night I had the final performances for the dance show that I have been rehearsing for all semester (so so so much fun, my favorite part of every fall semester) - and my mom flew all the way out to Portland to see me dance! (She really is the best person I know). We spent the remaining parts of the weekend eating a lot of fantastic food, doing a good bit of shopping, and overall just enjoying each other's company. It was so nice to be able to take a break from everything school related right before finals start and spend a weekend doing things I love with people I love.

Now, off to tackle all the homework I've put off until Sunday night!

4 Degrees

What I Wore [Shirt: American Eagle (similar), Skirt: American Apparel, Fleece Tights: Target, Boots: Lucky Brand, Bag: Madewell, Coat: Lands End (similar), Hat: American Apparel, Earrings: J. Crew (similar)]

Hello! It's been a while but I'm happy to have another outfit to post. Life for the past few weeks has been crazy and will continue to be until the end of the semester but I was able to fly home on Wednesday so that I could spend Thanksgiving weekend at home in Minnesota - I couldn't be happier for a little time away from everything.

I was definitely not prepared for just how cold it was going to be when I got home, so when I walked outside to take these photos and it was 4 degrees I immediately turned around and went back inside because there was no way I was going to stand outside and smile without the coat. Hence why I look like a large burnt (very cozy) marshmallow. But, I do love any chance to wear this hat so it's not a total loss.

Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and got to relax, eat a shameful amount of pie, and spend it with people you love! The countdown to Christmas begins!!

Early Autumn

What I Wore: [Top: Old Navy, Skirt: old Nordstrom - similar, Shoes: old Zara - similar, Lipstick: Bite Beauty "Zin"]

I know I am not alone in saying this but, I love Autumn. Crunchy leaves under my boot clad feet, warm drinks in my hands, and that crisp cool morning air that just makes you feel good - there just isn't a better time of year! In Portland, we're just starting to get some signs of the seasons changing. Although it's still forecasted to be 90 degrees this weekend (kill me, please) every time I see a slightly orange leaf in the trees on my way to class I get a little bit happier. This outfit, I feel, is very "early autumn" appropriate. The skirt is tweed - obviously one of the most Autumnal fabrics, and I've broken out the lightest of my berry lipsticks - yet I'm still able to walk around without tights or any sort of sweater of jacket.  I know that I'll be wearing both the top and the skirt into the later weeks and months as things get cooler and I begin to layer, but for now I am enjoying sitting in the warm sunshine between classes and drinking iced coffee without my hands freezing off.

Blue Belle

What I Wore: [Dress: Francesca's, Belt: H&M - similar, Shoes: Kelly & Co. - similar, Bag: Vintage, Nails: OPI "Don't Be Such A Budapest, Lips: Bite Beauty "Quince"]

I love any excuse I can get to dressed up, I usually end up going overboard and looking overdressed compared to other people and last night was definitely one of those instances. I went to go see a local production of Les Miserable with my mom (it's one of my most favorite musicals ever) and jumped at the chance to put on one of my favorite dresses and pull this beautiful vintage handbag out of my closet for a classy evening out. In my eyes, the little bag is the star the show. I got this handbag a few months ago during a weekend trip to Scotland while I was abroad - Kaylie and I stumbled into a random vintage shop in Glasgow while trying to escape the rain and I just couldn't leave without it. Believe it or not this is only the second time I've ever taken the bag out! Hopefully I'll be able to find more occasions to use it in the near future because it really is beautiful.

It was a wonderful evening out - full of good food, entertainment, and an outfit that even had strangers complimenting me (although that may have just been because I wasn't wearing the usual Minnesotan attire of t-shirts and jeans, we'll never know).

Hope you're all having a lovely Thursday, thanks for stopping by!

Eva
