OOTD: Boyfriend Jeans + Stripes

image

imageWhat I Wore: [Top: Forever 21, Sweater: Banana Republic, Jeans: LC Lauren Conrad, Shoes: White Mountain]

Today’s outfit was incredibly simplistic and comfortable, yet I feel like it was more stylish than most lazy day outfits. I’ve been trying to breakaway from my habit of only wearing dark-wash skinny jeans and have always liked the look over boyfriend jeans with wedges or heels, so here we are. Although I will still always prefer a skirt or dress any day of the week, sometimes a girl just has to wear pants and this pair is remarkably comfortable.

Until next time,

On Saturday night I went to go see one of my most favorite bands, Blind Pilot, play downtown in Portland. The venue was a bit fancier than most concert venues so I took the opportunity to dress up (but then again when don’t I take the chance to dress up). I love everything about this outfit, flattering, comfortable, and classic while still modern.

Also, a quick apology for the lack of posts these last few weeks! I’m closing in on finals week so there is done to be done in terms of school  along with making time to enjoy my last few weeks with all my friends before I head back home for the summer. Thanks for sticking with me!

OOTD: Maxi-ed Out

What I Wore [Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Jacket: Macy’s, Skirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Born]

Maxi skirts/dresses are one of my favorite things to wear, not only are they not pants (which I love) but they are nice and long so I don’t have to worry about bending down and any wardrobe malfunctions happening. I picked this simple black one up at Forever 21 a while ago and have been loving wearing it on days when I want to be lazy but still appear put-together.

I am slowly but surely getting used to my new hair, what are your thoughts?

What I Wore [Dress: Anthropologie (on sale!), Shoes: Zara, Necklace: Accessorize]

As much as I miss Minnesota I love being able to wear dresses and ballet flats in the middle of March, sometimes Portland weather is just perfect :)

Hoping things are just as lovely where you are,

One Skirt, Two Ways

So this skirt I found thrifting at Buffalo Exchange a few months ago, it’s a black wool pleated Tory Burch skirt from a few seasons ago that would have originally sold for $250! I bought this one for $25 and then took it to a tailor because it was two sizes to big for me, she brought in the waist and made it a bit shorter and now it fits perfectly. This is such a classic piece that can be worn tons of different ways and I am so glad I found it at such an amazing price! Here is an example of how I recently transitioned this piece from a daytime look to an evening look:What I Wore [Top: Anthropologie, Shoes: Vila]

I loved this outfit for class on Friday, the sun was shining in Portland and it was finally warm enough to go without tights! The skirt is also the perfect length for busy days (and being tall) because I don’t have to worry about my butt hanging out when I am running from class to class all day!

What I Wore [Blouse: Forever 21, Cami: Kohls, Heels: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Earrings: Discount Dance Supply]

In the evening I went out with some friends to a cool Vietnamese restaurant in the city to celebrate surviving our first full week of the new semester and I loved that I was able to transition this piece from day to evening. All I had to do was put on a different shirt, throw on some heels, and twist up my hair and I was ready to go :)

Thanks for stoping by!

OOTD: Florals in the fog

What I Wore [Top: H&M, Pants: Forever 21, Shoes: Michael Kors, Necklace: Tiffany & Co., Lipstick: NYX “Tea Rose”]

When it’s dreary outside I feel even more compelled to wear florals and bright colors than I do when the weather is nice, which was the case today. This amazing water-colored peplum top is such a great statement piece and requires little else to be paired with it to complete the outfit. All I added wear some pants, flats, and a simple necklace and I was ready for my day!

OOTD: Rainy Day Attire

What I Wore [Top: Aerie, Blazer: Forever 21, Necklace: Betsey Johnson, Jeans: Michael Kors, Boots: Sperry, Nail Polish: Essie “Ballet Slippers”]

Rain boots are an absolute essential in Portland and I feel as though I’ll be wearing mine every day this week. These ones from Sperry are perfect because the gold hardware makes appear them a bit more dressy than the average pair of rain boots. Plus, they’re lined with fleece so my feet stay nice at toasty while I walk from class to class!
